DOT Region 2 Kick Off 3-Day MICE 101 and 102 Training Workshop in Cauayan City
The Department of Tourism Region 2 (DOT Region 2), in collaboration with the Philippine MICE Academy and with funding support from the Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) Philippines, officially commenced a 3-day MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) 101 & 102 Training Workshop today, September 23, 2024, at The Hotel Andrea Café and Restaurant, Cauayan City, Isabela.
The event, which will run until September 25, 2024, aims to strengthen the MICE industry in the region, equipping participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to elevate local MICE initiatives to global standards.
DOT Region 2 Regional Director Troy Alexander Miano led the opening ceremony, expressing his excitement over the new opportunities this training brings to the region. “This is a significant milestone for us, as we work towards further strengthening the MICE industry here in Region 2,” said Miano. “We are also proud to recognize the City of Cauayan for its recent achievement as an ASEAN MICE Awardee, which reflects the potential of this region to become a key player in the national and international MICE landscape.”
Today’s session began with an introduction to MICE 101, covering the fundamentals of organizing and managing meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions. Participants, which include local stakeholders, tourism officers, event organizers, and industry professionals, are expected to benefit from a comprehensive program designed to enhance their capabilities in hosting MICE events.
The workshop continues over the next two days, with more in-depth discussions on MICE 102, focusing on advanced strategies and best practices.
