DOT, DOST, PLGU Cagayan, and LGU Tuguegarao City Collaborate on Food Grading System for Food Establishments

DOT Regional Director Troy Alexander Miano expressed the Department’s strong support for this initiative, citing Gastronomy Tourism as a priority program under the current administration. He also highlighted the institutionalization of this program to ensure its long-term sustainability, in alignment with the DOT Accreditation Process, which was also discussed during the meeting.  

City Tourism Officer Gina Adducul, was present and representing the City Mayor, affirms the LGU’s support for the program’s implementation. Cagayan Provincial Tourism Officer Jenifer Junio-Baquiran was also present to signify the province’s alignment with the program’s goals.  

The event culminated with a ceremonial MOA signing, solidifying the partnership among the participating government agencies. This milestone demonstrates the collective commitment to elevate the standards of food establishments in Tuguegarao City, contributing to safer, higher-quality dining experiences for locals and tourists alike.  

The initiative reflects a shared vision of enhancing food safety, supporting MSMEs, and positioning Tuguegarao City as a culinary hub, further advancing its role in Gastronomy Tourism. #
