DOT Conducts ASEAN Homestay for Nueva Vizcaya

The Department of Tourism Region 2 Office is conducting an eight-day blended ASEAN Homestay Training for the Province of Nueva Vizcaya from September 6 to 13, 2021. The training is being participated by the towns of Diadi, Quezon, Dupax Del Sur, Dupax Del Norte, Kasibu, Ambaguio and Sta. Fe as an online feature as well as face to face engagement.

The Association of South East Asian Nation (ASEAN) Homestay Training is being recognized across Asia as a standard training module for homeowners who prefer to offer their homes as an accommodation service provider in areas where there is dearth in accommodation facilities.

Under the Tourism Industry Skills Program (TISP), the Department of Tourism is mandated to implement Industry Development Programs to capacitate tourism stakeholders in the new normal.

The program addresses the skills gap in the industry for increased customer satisfaction and to provide and improve the quality of tourism services in communities where there are exceptional tourism experiences.

Following the thrust of the government in countryside development, the ASEAN Homestay training is a relevant program to promote cultural tourism in the grassroots level. Participants to the Homestay Training will learn the importance of systematic operation of small guests’ facilities thereby increasing their income in the comfort of their own homes.

The department has commissioned a powerhouse of DOT Accredited Trainors in the person of National Tour Guide President Romano Del Rosario, Dr. Freddie Quinito, Chef Jose Ramlo Villaluna and Mr. Robert Cruz of PDRRMO for the online and face to face trainings.

The conduct of the ASEAN Homestay Training for the Province of Nueva Vizcaya is in support to the Feel the Vibe Vizcaya! Tourism Circuit which will be launched this year.
