DOT Attends Launching and Photo Exhibit of Project EPANAW The Department of Tourism, Region 2 attended the simultaneous launching and photo exhibit of Project EPANAW (Journey) initiated by the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NUN/ in partnership with the Tourism Promoti ns Board (TPB) last 21 March 2021 at the Robinsons Place Tuguegarao City, Cagayan.

 

The Project EPANAW has produced three (3) Coffee Table Books (CMS) which contains the profiles of the Indigenous Cultural Communities/ Indigenous Peoples (leCsliPs) of the Philippines, the different rituals of the ICCs/lPs and the tourist destinations, protected areas and natural resources in ancestral domains.

 

 

Department of Tourism, Region 2 Officer In-Charge Fanibeth Domingo in her message, shared the support and advocacy of the DOT which puts emphasis on Sustainable Tourism Development. She elaborated that the DOT leads/ advocates and provides technical assistance towards the realization of Sustainable Development Goals and supports programs that lead to the generation and amplification of the same objectives of the Project EPANAW.

 

The photo exhibit of Project EPANAW will run for two-weeks at the Ground Floor Activity Center of Robinsons Placer Tuguegarao City. The objective of the photo exhibit includes, among others is to create public awareness about the ICCsillps and advocate the recognition, respect, promotion and protection of their rights as well as to inform the public of the different programs for ICCOPs and provide a venue for interagency/partners visits and dialogue and strengthen partnerships with other agencies and private partners.
