Department of Tourism Celebrates with LGU-Lal-lo, Cagayan Their 443rd Patronal Town Fiesta and 24th Cabibi Festival
The Department of Tourism (DOT) joins the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Lal-lo, Cagayan in celebrating their 443rd Patronal Town Fiesta and 24th Cabibi Festival from July 29 to August 4, 2024. This year’s theme, “Rambak Lokal: Bolstering Lal-lo’s Shining Legacy,” highlights the vibrant culture, rich heritage, and enduring spirit of the Lal-lo community under the great leadership of Mayor Florante Pascual and Vice-Mayor Maria Olivia Pascual.
The week-long celebration includes various activities to engage the community and highlight local craftsmanship, cuisine, and athleticism. Key events include the Cabibi Arts and Crafts Competition, Cabibi Cooking and Lubeg Dessert Making Contest, Color Fun Run and Zumba for a Cause, Bangkarera (boat racing), and Bingo Socials.
Highlights of the festival are the Street Dancing Competition, Binibining Lal-lo pageant, and the Fluvial Procession, reflecting the unique traditions and festive spirit of the Lal-lo community. The celebration will culminate in a special mass on August 4 at the Parroquia de Santo Domingo de Guzman, bringing residents and visitors together for prayer and thanksgiving.
The LGU has also inaugurated Cafe Nueva Segovia, supporting local Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). The café features coffee sourced from Cagayan State University (CSU) Lal-lo, showcasing local products and contributing to the local economy.
Lal-lo’s tourism tagline, “Lal-lo Shines Even Brighter,” emphasizes the town’s commitment to showcasing its vibrant culture, supporting local enterprises, and fostering pride among its residents. This celebration is a testament to Lal-lo’s enduring legacy and its position as a shining example of community spirit and cultural heritage in the region.
